Hello all,

I have a template in E2Pdf with many fields. In one field I want to compose a link from several elements. In my form there is an input field for a title (%title%) and a number (%number%). In the field, in which I want to compose the link, is currently under "Properties" --> "Value":

https://example.com/%number%-%title%

This works fine as long as %title% does not contain any spaces. I have already read that it is possible to replace spaces with hyphens. Unfortunately, I don't understand what exactly I need to enter under Value to make this work.

I appreciate your help!

Many thanks and greetings

Hi,

If you need just to replace every space with hyphen then it must be solvable by using [e2pdf-format-output] shortcode wrapper as follows:

[e2pdf-format-output search=" " replace="-"]https://example.com/%number%-%title%[/e2pdf-format-output]

We remain at your service.

We would really appreciate your feedback at WordPress.org!

Thanks for the super quick reply! That sounds super simple and plausible. Unfortunately, my field just remains empty at the end. Do I have to activate the shortcode somewhere before?

Thank you very much and many greetings!

Unfortunately we can't replicate issue on our side.

Is it completely remains empty, even without start of URL?

Can you try please to create completely new field ("input" / "textarea") and copy same value to it?

If it will not work:
- Can you please attach screenshot of full field "Properties"? or attach "backup" of E2Pdf Template (preferably) (Screenshot attached).

or

- If it's acceptable for you submit support request here: https://e2pdf.com/support/request with access details to WP Admin Dashboard here, so we can test directly on your side?

We would really appreciate your feedback at WordPress.org!

Okay, that's crazy! I just created a new field and pasted the exact same text. Now it works!

"Have you tried turning it off and on again?"

Thanks for the help! Great, I'm glad!!!

Many greetings!

Martin
