so, if I understand correctly, api server calls are only made when there is a PDF being generated by the plugin?

what if I am using an already generated PDF, and using the plugin to to fill data from formidable forms; and send send as an attachment?

I guess, is the a documentation on api server ?

Our API is used to generate and to fill PDF with data also. For simple usage you do not need to do any calls. Here is located some our video examples to understand the process: https://www.youtube.com/e2pdf to understand the process.
