Hi,

I am interested in creating a pdf template from Caldera Forms. However, right after the first try, I got a 500 error, and I don't have any mapping options appearing on the page (as you can see on the screenshot attached).

Is there a way to solve this?

Best regards,

Hi,

Can you let us know please:

1. Are you using PRO or FREE version of Caldera Forms? Do you have the latest version of Caldera Forms / E2Pdf?
2. Are you using any ad-dons for Caldera Forms?

It would be very helpful if you could check error.log to see the error details which can be connected with Caldera Forms / E2Pdf and PHP Fatal Error. Thank you.

Hi,

On the screenshot I sent you, I used both free versions of Caldera Forms and E2PDF since it is a demo website. On the main site, I use the pro version of Caldera Forms, latest version up to date (1.8.7) and the free version of E2PDF (1.7.2).

The main site uses 3 Caldera Forms add-ons : MailChimp, Caldera Forms Pro Client and CalderaWP License Manager ; the last two are mandatory if you use Caldera Forms Pro, and the MailChimp add-on is not used on the form I want to create a pdf of.

I couldn't find any error log on the server related to this particular error: is there a specifi place where I should be looking?

Thanks for your support,

Have a nice day,

Usually 500 error will be displayed as "Fatal Error" in error.log file, and it's depending on your server settings.

You can turn on debug mode for "E2Pdf" via "E2Pdf" -> "Settings" -> "Turn on Debug mode".

After this option enabled, and dashboard refreshed you must see new menu: "E2Pdf" -> "Debug". Check please there if all PHP Extensions showing as "Enabled", if so, you can try to check error.log path via php info, via "E2Pdf" -> "Debug" -> "PHP Info" and search there value: error_log. In some cases it can show no value.

We could not yet replicate an issue but it can be connected also with "form structure". You can check this just by creating simple form with just one simple "text" field and check if "Visual Mapper" will work for this, newly created simple form.

P.S. Latest version of E2Pdf must be 1.09.02 but by screenshot it looks like you are using exactly this version.

Hi,

I turned the debug mode on: all PHP extensions are active, and I saw the error_log location in php_info(). What I meant to say is that I don't have an error_log file: I browsed the entire site to try to generate one but it didn't happen. Also you were right regarding the E2Pdf version.

I tried to map a field from a much simpler form and this time it worked like a charm. The form I try to generate a pdf from is much much more complex (with a lot of conditions and calculations). Does this mean I can't use your plugin to generate a pdf from the previous form?

Best regards,

It looks like issue is connected with form structure. We need to understand on which part it's failing, to release the fix. If it's possible you can export form to .json and attach it to next message so we can try to replicate bug on our side.

It must be still okay to use if you will "map" fields manually but we can't be sure until we find exact reason of issue.

P.S. You can mark message private so only support and you can see the message.
