Loses formatting on editing

Thanks for this plugin - it's awesome!

I have a PDF linked to a Formidable Form. Users don't always input their information correctly so when my PDF fields are automatically populated, I need to manually edit them.

This works as expected when I export the PDF unflattened and I edit the fields. But when I save the PDF, the edited fields lose their formatting (so no bold, the text is smaller than expected etc).

What can I do to prevent this?
Thanks!

Hi, thank you!

Unfortunately this is default behaviour of PDF format. When you edit PDF
fields values, style is controlled fully by PDF editor. You can get different styles like line-height, etc. It's because PDF format store some text styles "inside" text but not field.

The only solution is to correct information before export to PDF. It can be edit of entry and re-export to PDF or modify the form to avoid incorrectly data.

We remain at your service.
We would really appreciate your feedback at WordPress.org!

Thank you for the quick reply!

I have found that exporting the PDF, saving it immediately and then making edits in a program such as Foxit PDF retains the correct formatting. So all good!
