Hi, I have two forms that have over 100 fields each. Let's call them Form A and Form B. Each user will fill out Form A then on a later date fill out Form B. Can I combine the data of these two forms? How do I ensure that I get the correct data from each user since the forms will be filled out at different times?

Hi,

We've made some tests. There are different possibilities to fit your needs.

1) Use [frm-field-value field_id=122 user_id=current] shortcode inside E2Pdf template, where field_id the id of field from Form "A"

2) Use [frm-field-value field_id=122 user_id=current] shortcode with hidden fields inside formidable form "B".

3) Create formidable view and use [display-frm-data] shortcodes inside E2Pdf template.

1, 2 solutions will retrieve field value from latest entry which was made by user_id with form "A". With 3rd solution it depends on created View and created conditions.

If Form A and Form B can be filled several times and it's need exactly to connect different entries (for example 1 and 2, 3 and 4) or you can't connect form submission to user_id then it would be need to create custom code on form submissions with needed logic and fill values on Form B submission.

If you don't know which form will be filled first, solution can be to merge 1 and 2nd points and create different templates for each form. With conditional logic you will be able to check if data filled in Form B when user submits Form A, or vice versa and show needed "Success Message" with download link or send email with attachment.

P.S. We've sent you credentials to your email with link to demo which will show simple example on 1 and 2nd solutions.

Hello, on your prior plugin Formidable PRO2PDF, there was an option to "Add a second dataset." This was handy for merging data onto a pdf from two separate formidable forms. Does E2PDF have a similar feature? If so, could you please let me know how to use it? Thanks!

Hi. Are you using Embed Form?

If so, just use Visual Mapper - second form must be visible there and fields must be mapped correctly.

The field shortcode must appear like [418:1] - where 418 - Field ID of other form. But it's just if you are using Embed Form. If you are using it in different way, let us know the way you are connecting 2 entries.

Thank you for your prompt response. No I am not using the Embed Form Feature. I basically have two separate formidable forms that must be completed by a two separate people, a sponsor and a beneficiary. On Formidable PRO2PDF I just used the "Add a second dataset" to populate a pdf that requires information from both the sponsor and beneficiary.

Thank you for clarifying the question.

Unfortunately it's not possible to merge 2 datasets at admin "Export" page at this moment but this feature is already in our TODO list. We expect to add this feature in nearest time. Sorry for this inconveniences.

Two viable work-arounds are:
1. Create a Formidable View for each field in the 2nd dataset, then enter the View's shortcode into the corresponding PDF Field Value.
2. Use Formidable's Get a Value from an Entry shortcode as the PDF Field Value.

Let us know how your 1st form's data is associated with your 2nd form's data if you need more specific directions.

Do you guys have an estimate on when this feature will be available? I am about to map a very large form that will consist of 2 separate datasets on PRO2PDF, but I don't want to put in all this work if this feature will be on E2PDF soon. Thank you.

Hi,

We are really sorry for such long delay with adding this feature. It was delayed due ongoing bug fixes which is the priority for our plugin. Currently feature of multiple datasets merge is under testing and bug fixes stage, however we expect it to be included it in plugin release after WooCommerce extension integration which is expected to be released on next month. We really hope to close question with this feature in nearest time as it was requested by other our users also.

Hi,

We are currently working exactly on this feature as WooCommerce extension was already released, so we expect that we finally release it in nearest time.

We need to test it carefully as it will change some core functionality of plugin and it can affect existing users. We hope we do not face any global bugs on current plugin version which can delay release. As soon as it will be available as beta, we will note you. Currently we expect to release it on December.

Hi,

We just released RC version which supports this functionality. Keep in mind please that It's still under "beta" test as there was a lot of core changes to add this functionality however if you wish to test it, you can download it directly from here: https://e2pdf.com/download/latest or you can apply update now by turning on updates from "e2pdf.com". Option can be enabled at "E2Pdf" -> "Settings" -> "Release Candidate Builds" (screenshot 1). After enabling this option you must be able to check for updates at "Dashboard" -> "Updates" and update plugin as usual to version 1.14.00.

It's recommended to turn off this option after update

To use "Merged Items" feature you must set "Item" to "Merged Items" and select 2 forms. (screenshot 2)

Hi,

It looks like some issues with PDF file which you are trying to upload. Can you please upload it to next message so we can test it on our side?

Yes, thank you. We could replicate issue on our side and it seems some checkbox were missing from PDF however information about them still stored and E2Pdf was trying to access this data. We currently added some additional checks to prevent it and PDF seems must be loaded without issues.

To upload current PDF on your side you must be able:

Switch "PDF Processor" at "E2Pdf" -> "Settings" to "Release Candidate (For Beta Testers ONLY)" -> Upload PDF -> Switch it back to "Stable"

or

Update plugin to RC version 1.16.01 by enabling update from E2Pdf option "E2Pdf" -> "Settings"

Let us know please if it will be any further issues with it.
