Formidable view into PDF

Hi,

I have quite a complex 'View' setup through Formidable that I'd like to replicate inside a PDF. It basically uses CSS and field IDs to form a chart. This would be fine if I could use your PDF builder to insert HTML/CSS I think, but I'm struggling to work out how to add anything more than text and images.

Is this something that's possible? If not I'll have to look for another solution I think.

Thanks for your help!

Hi,

HTML can be used inside "Html" objects, but support is very limited at this moment, and it seems not what you need.

It's hard to say if "E2Pdf" will fit your needs as we do not know exactly how your PDF need to be look like. "Formidable Graphs" not yet supported but it's already in our "Roadmap" and we are working on implementing this feature.

The best way will be just to check our "Free" version, as we do not limit any functionality except number of "Activated" Templates and number of pages inside.

We remain at your service.
We would really appreciate your feedback at WordPress.org!

Hi Oleksandr, thanks for your response.

I've tried the HTML object, but it just displays the raw HTML. Am I doing something wrong?

It's need drag&drop "html" object to page, click with "Right Mouse" button -> "Properties" -> And insert HTML to "Value".

Perfect - that's worked!

However, I've now got no idea how to view the PDF after submitting the Formidable Form? The shortcodes don't display in my view, nor a page I'm redirecting to, nor in the email...

Sorry, I feel like I'm asking some basic questions here ...

Doesn't matter in fact - it's not taking any CSS into account at all so will have to find another solution I think. Thanks for the help anyway!

No problem. We are working on renewing documentation to make it more clear.

Currently you can check our "Documentation" page here and check our YouTube channel with some tutorials here.

Steps:
1. Be sure that Template is "Activated"
2. Check if E2Pdf Template connected to correct form ("Item"), if not, it can be changed via "Options" link inside E2Pdf Template (screenshot below).
3. Insert [e2pdf-download id="1"], where 1 is the number of E2Pdf Template to "Formidable Success Message" or "Email". Other possible shortcodes can be found on our "Documentation" page here.
4. Fill out the form as a result you must got "Download" link with filled PDF or other result if another shortcode used.

Thanks Oleksandr, that did work in the success message, but not in a URL redirect it seems.

But as mentioned unless there's a way of getting CSS into the final PDF unfortunately it's not going to be the solution I'm after. If you know of a way besides using in the HTML object, please do let me know!

Unfortunately, E2Pdf can offer only build-in customisation for E2Pdf objects like fields, "html" objects, images and "rectangles".

We plan to add CSS and JavaScript support but I can't tell you time when this features will be available. Also mostly not all css will be supported as structure of PDFs is completely different from "html".

No worries Oleksandr, really appreciate the help.

Might be worth your team looking into pdfshift.io, they seem to be doing a good job of converting html into PDFs, perhaps there's some reverse engineering you could do :)

Thanks again for your time, I'll keep my eye on this plugin moving forward and come back to you later on!
